Project Description
The Alberta Cardiovascular and Stroke Research Centre (ABACUS) is a translational research facility dedicated to the study of heart, stroke, and vascular diseases. This innovative centre will occupy level zero of the Alberta Heart Institute.
ABACUS is the home for Molecules to Populations research, where researchers from various disciplines perform outstanding research aimed at the prevention, detection, and cure of cardiovascular diseases. ABACUS will enhance patient care and contribute to the education of scientists and cardiovascular healthcare professionals.
CHE's Role
The Centre for Health Evidence provides information services including an Internet desktop. Through this desktop, researchers and administrators will be able to collaborate, share files, run virtual committees, book labs, and more. CHE is working with ABACUS to provide additional information and research support tools such as integrated electronic health records and automatic professional credits for physicians. CHE also maintains the ABACUS website.
